Course Title: Dementia Care


Overview:

The aim of this course is to provide all learners with a better understanding of the needs of a person with dementia.

The caring of people with dementia is an important skill for all care workers to learn. It is vital that you have the knowledge to deal with a variety of tasks that could arise in your working environment and take appropriate action to ensure that the client has a better quality of life.
You will learn how to promote the health and welfare of others ensuring a safe environment.



Course Content

During the course you will learn the inportance of dementia Care in the health care and domiciliary sector including:

  • Introduction to Dementia

  • Communication and behaviour

  • Maintaining health and well-being

  • The environment

  • Protection, reporting and recording

  • Integrated care and support

Venue Learners workplace or venue to be agreed



Course Duration 3 Days



Certificate At the end of the session learners will be issued with a certificate of attendance which can be referenced to the Health and Social Care NVQ
