Overview:

The Moving and Handling course is for all carers who need to transfer and handle people.


Course Content:

The course includes:

  • Legislation on Moving and Handling

  • Awareness of Risk Assessmentø

  • Employer/Employee responsibilities

  • Causes of back injuries

  • Equipment available

The course covers:

  • How to move people safely (theory and practice)

  • Work environment

  • How to assess risks involved in Manual Handlingø

  • The different types of Moving and Handling injuries

  • Your legal and professional responsibilities

Methods Used:

  • Video

  • Reflective Learning

  • Discussions

  • Questioning


Venue: Learners workplace, Our training suite or a venue to be agreed.

Course Duration: Full day

Certificate:
At the end of the session, learners will be issued with a
Certificate of attendance which can be referenced to the Health and Social Care NVQ's.
